Ribbon

I wanted to follow this Photoshop tutorial, but I can’t get the hand of the Photoshop pen tool, so I used the pen tool in Illustrator for the shapes, then brought it into Photoshop. I added a couple of filters to the end result.

  1. I’ve been enjoying your Design Something Every Day work.

I know what you mean about the Photoshop pen tool versus the Illustrator pen tool. But recently I came across this Photoshop pen tutorial which has almost completely solved my Photoshop pen tool issues.

The following tutorial is much more educational, except that it did me no good until I had read the link mentioned above.

    • After I posted this, I came across a tutorial using the 2nd method, but the first method in that tutorial is really interesting and does make things a lot easier!

      thanks Beth.

  2. love how you even did the stroke on the edge – this looks like a real honest-to-goodness ribbon!

  3. Looks just like a real ribbon – great job! Reminds me of long forgotten days of actually drawing/painting in Photoshop (like, PS 2 & 3 :) )
