This is my first attempt to use the FBML box on Facebook to create a custom welcome page that non-fans who visit the Facebook page are directed to. Several tutorials exist on making a custom Facebook page, but the information is pretty sparce in terms of what html code to insert in the FBML box. I got this to work by starting and ending with a div tag and using inline styles for my tags.

Don’t purchase background patterns when you can create your own!
The condensed directions.
Create this pattern in Illustrator and copy one shape using the transform tool to make multiple copies. Rotate and tweak the shape until you get the desired effect. Open a new Photoshop document and create a gradient for the background. Place the Illustrator file into Photoshop and use the bevel and emboss tools to make the effect.

I’ve wanted to know how to make tiling backgrounds for a long time. I played around with an easy way to do it; the hard part for me was creating something that worked well to tile.

I realized after uploading that I needed to push some items to the right of the content area. I also added more elements to tie in photos and groups. All the photos are mine, except the pineapple and flamingo.

I am sure this seems minor but I have never installed a new font to use on my machine. Often I see really awesome fonts but couldn’t use them because I don’t have them. So I finally took the plunge and figured out how to install them and used one.

This was done using the free font Honey Script from dafont.com.
