“Process before product.”
‘Twas the first night of my Sculpture with Non-traditional Materials class and we were being introduced to making clay molds to create plaster relief sculptures. We students were thinking wall pockets, vases, ashtrays and toothbrush holders. With the simple statement above our instructor pointed out that learning the materials, tools and techniques builds the best foundation. And that the foundation was an essential first step.
This daily design discipline is my workshop for exploring and experimenting with the tools and techniques that can later be applied to client projects.
